Kim Meyer to Be First Woman Sheriff Campaign Kickoff

Campaign Kickoff Fundraiser, April 5th

Reno, NV  – Kim Meyer is pleased to announce her Campaign Kickoff Fundraiser at Mari Chuy’s Mexican Kitchen located at 764 S. Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89501, on April 5th from 5:30pm-8:00pm. We are excited to launch this campaign and have a new team on board. This will be an uphill battle because there has never been a woman sheriff, but we are excited to shatter the glass ceiling.

“I’ve spent a career protecting some of our community’s most vulnerable citizens, and I know what it takes to keep the residents of Washoe County safe”, Meyer stated. “I would be honored to continue serving the people of Washoe County if elected sheriff. I believe we have one of the best law enforcement agencies here in Washoe County, and I will work to support our deputies so they can continue to provide the highest quality service to our community.”

Kim has served her community for over 24 years in the Sheriff’s Department and has worked from the ground up. Kim has promised to protect those that cannot protect themselves and build a better coalition to combat sex trafficking in our community. With one out of every three adolescents on the street being lured toward prostitution within 48 hours of leaving their home (source: Awaken), Kim vows to make this a priority by creating a multidisciplinary approach that will reach cross jurisdictions to combat this epidemic head on.
